Short version: Ledge goes online for two things only, and your files are not one of them.

No files leave your Mac

Ledge has no account and no analytics. Ledge goes online for two things only: activating your licence with our payment provider, Dodo Payments, and checking for updates. Activation sends your licence key and a random name for this Mac. A release gate inspects the compiled app and fails the build if any other part of Ledge can reach the network. Every file you drag onto the shelf stays on your Mac.

What it stores, locally

The files you've shelved, and your settings, live in ~/Library/Application Support/Ledge/ on your own disk. Delete that folder and everything Ledge held is gone. Nothing is kept anywhere else, because there is nowhere else.

Purchases

Buying a licence happens through our payment processor, which handles your card details under its own privacy policy; we never see your full card number. A licence is tied to an email address so we can send you the key.
